G1
The SolarCleano G1 is 14-meter cleaning beast, engineered for unmatched precision, stability, and efficiency on extra-large east-west infrastructures.
A giant solution for a giant project.
The Project and its Challenges
Located near Bordeaux in France, the Cestas Solar Park is one of the most iconic large-scale photovoltaic installations in Europe and the largest solar power plant in France. Commissioned in 2015, the site represents a major milestone in the country’s energy transition and demonstrates the technical maturity of utility-scale solar.
With an installed capacity of 300 MWp, the plant spans approximately 260 hectares and is composed of close to one million photovoltaic modules. Its size, exposure, and operational intensity make Cestas a reference site for performance optimization, long-term asset management, and advanced O&M strategies.
As with all large photovoltaic plants, maintaining optimal performance at Cestas depends heavily on module cleanliness and preventive maintenance. Dust, pollen, sand, and atmospheric pollution can significantly reduce energy yield—particularly on installations of this scale where even marginal losses translate into substantial production shortfalls. This is why Eiffage Énergies Systèmes challenged us to go beyond standard solutions and engineer a unique custom system capable of performing at this exceptional scale.
The Objectives
1
Efficient cleaning across extensive solar fields
2
Reduced water usage
3
Safe operation with minimal human intervention
Our contribution
A team of engineers was fully mobilised throughout the project lifecycle, from technical design and tests coordination to on-site execution and commissioning. By combining in-depth engineering expertise with rigorous project management, our teams ensured seamless integration, compliance with technical requirements, and delivery to the highest quality and performance standards.

Our solution
We delivered a fully custom-engineered solution designed to protect performance and maximise energy yield on a 300 MW solar asset. The SolarCleano G1 was developed specifically to clean 12-metre-wide east–west solar rows efficiently, safely, and with minimal operational disruption. By combining extreme robustness, precision cleaning, and seamless integration into large-scale O&M operations, the G1 enables reliable, repeatable cleaning where conventional systems fail.
